When updating your kitchen one of the most important choices to make are your kitchen worktops. You need family- friendly stone worktops that stand up to real life!

Durability, hygiene and maintenance matter just as much (if not more) than your worktops being aesthetically pleasing. A family kitchen means typically rougher use, spills and mess so your worktop needs to be up for it!

Quartz Worktops are the perfect choice for a family home!

Durability- Quartz is a hard, durable and scratch- resistant material able to withstand knocks, dropped utensils and daily wear.

Non Porous- It’s non-porous quality means it will withstand spills, food, coffee mug marks and more. Simply wipe clean!

Maintenance- Busy parents LOVE low-maintenance kitchens. Quartz is perfect as you can wipe and wash clean with soapy water and it’ll look good as new! We provide a bottle of ‘Eaton Stonemasons Polish’ after installation which will keep the surface sparkly after it’s been cleaned.

Hygiene- It’s non-porous nature also means it’s more hygienic, preventing bacterial growth.

Granite is a natural stone and while very beautiful for kitchen worktops it’s a porous material making it easier to stain. Once you have a tough stain which you’re unable to clean off there’s not much you are able to do. This means you have to maintain the surface by re-sealing it every couple of years.

Granite is more heat resistant than quartz. With all worktop materials we would always advise using a heat mat when placing hot pots and pans on the surfaces- just in case!

Being a natural stone there is a colour variation between the same colour slabs- each one is individual and can provide a more natural feel for your kitchen.

Marble is a popular stone due to it’s aesthetically pleasing colour variations- the marble look!

For other sections in the house it’s perfect however for your kitchen worktops it isn’t the best choice for your family home.

Marble is porous and easily stained especially by more acidic liquids such as juice and art materials. It also etches/ marks more easily and is more of a design statement than a practical surface for kids daily routines.
