Either Quartz or Granite are the most popular surfaces for kitchens. Marble is not advised due to it being a much softer stone. It will scratch and stain easily making it really hard work in your kitchen. Wooden worktops are also common however these require re-oiling to keep them looking good and eventually they will have small marks and stains overtime.
